At Seoul Theater Creation Center on October 13
The Korea Performing Arts Tourism Association will hold a seminar titled "Revitalizing Korea-China Performing Arts Tourism Exchange" on October 13 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Seoul Theater Creation Center in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.
This seminar has been organized to coincide with the visit of performing arts and tourism professionals from the Producer Committee of the China Association of Performing Arts.
Leading producers and tourism officials from China's performing arts industry arrived in Korea on October 12 to experience and engage with the Korean performing arts market firsthand. They are scheduled to stay until October 15. During their visit, they will participate in the main programs of the "2025 Performing Arts Tourism Festival: Welcome Daehakro," hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Tourism Organization and the Korea Performing Arts Tourism Association. Their itinerary includes attending five performances-musicals Inside Me, The Great Gatsby, and Death Note; the non-verbal performance Jump; and the play Beautiful Life-including fringe performances and a smart theater (subtitle glasses) show. They also plan to take part in networking meetings with performing arts tourism professionals, participate in the Seoul Performing Arts Market (PAMS), and visit major cultural facilities such as the Seoul Theater Creation Center, Re-Stage Seoul, and ARKO Arts Theater.
The seminar on October 13 will discuss the current status and future directions of Korea's performing arts tourism, as well as the potential for exchange among Korea, China, and Japan in this sector.
Son Sangwon, CEO of Dialab, will present on the "Current Status of the Korean Performing Arts Market." The second presentation, by Jeong Jinsu, CEO of KTO Partners, will cover "Current Status and Future Directions of Performing Arts Tourism-A Proposal for Korea-China-Japan Performing Arts Tourism Exchange." The third presentation, by Bae Sunghyuk, Chairman of the Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF) Organizing Committee, will focus on "DIMF: 20 Years of Achievements and Challenges."
Wang Haixiao, CEO of Haixiao Culture, who co-organized this visit with the Producer Committee of the China Association of Performing Arts, stated, "Following the enthusiastic response to last year's first visit program, I am delighted that this year we have again created an opportunity to experience the Korean performing arts market in depth. I hope that through this exchange, producers from both countries will establish practical cooperation models and lead the joint growth of the performing arts tourism industry in Asia."
Yoon Minsik, President of the Korea Performing Arts Tourism Association, commented, "The visit of key figures from China's performing arts industry marks an important turning point for Korea-China cooperation in performing arts tourism. Through this seminar, we hope to showcase the appeal of the Korean performing arts market and discover practical cooperation models for exchange between the two countries."
