A story about receiving a note from a neighbor asking them to wait before coming out if they hear someone in the hallway has gone viral.

On October 6, several online communities and social networking services (SNS) featured posts about receiving a note from the house next door. In the photo shared by a netizen, the note read, "If you hear the door opening or any sign of someone in front of you, please wait a little before coming out. I believe this is an unspoken rule we should all follow."

Netizens were divided in their opinions about the photo. Those who agreed commented, "I'm like that too. If I hear a sound while putting on my shoes to go out, I wait," and "It's uncomfortable to run into neighbors."

However, most people found the request unreasonable. They responded, "If someone goes so far as to write a note like that, they should be the ones to wait," "If you want to live as if no one lives next to you, please don't live in an apartment," and "Since when was that an unspoken rule?"
