The program includes fluoride varnish application, toothbrushing education, and hands-on dental experience activities.
On September 17, Sokcho City Mayor Lee Byungseon visited the site to encourage 25 children from Haetsalmaru Daycare Center who were participating in the program, and shared the significance of the initiative with the president and executive members of the Daycare Center Association.
Mayor Lee Byungseon stated, "The bright smiles of our children represent the future of Sokcho," and urged, "I hope they continue to maintain healthy teeth and growth by practicing proper toothbrushing habits three times a day." He added, "I also deeply appreciate the executive members of the Daycare Center Association and all childcare staff who care for and educate our children with dedication."
Meanwhile, this initiative was selected for the Hometown Love Fund contest and is being implemented with a total budget of 22 million won. The program includes a variety of activities such as fluoride varnish application, provision of special toothbrushes, dental instrument experience, and education on proper toothbrushing methods, all designed to help children learn in an enjoyable way and put these habits into practice in their daily lives.
Sokcho City plans to continue strengthening cooperation in the fields of health, education, and welfare to create a healthy growth environment for children and to further expand public health and hygiene initiatives that citizens can directly benefit from.
