Suwon City in Gyeonggi Province is introducing the "Whistle" service, which provides advance notification of parking enforcement via mobile devices. To sign up, simply download the Whistle app from the Play Store (Android) or the App Store (Apple).
On September 17, Suwon City announced that it will launch Whistle, an expanded version of its pre-existing parking enforcement notification service, which has sent advance text message alerts to vehicle owners since 2013.
Whistle delivers notifications through text messages or in-app messages. It also offers a variety of convenient features, including notifications in foreign languages, traffic fine inquiries, and a search function for nearby parking lots.
Suwon City will operate both the existing parking enforcement notification service and Whistle in parallel until the end of this year. For users registered with both systems, Whistle will be given priority for information delivery.
Starting in January next year, Suwon City plans to discontinue the existing parking enforcement notification service and send enforcement alerts exclusively through Whistle.
Suwon City will send text messages to current subscribers of the existing notification service to inform them of the changes and will actively promote Whistle.
