Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on September 14 that a joint volunteer group, composed of resident staff at Incheon Airport, carried out overseas volunteer activities in Phu Tho Province, Vietnam, from September 8 to 13.
This overseas volunteer initiative involved 40 volunteers, including Shin Gakyun, Executive Director of Management at Incheon International Airport Corporation, as well as executives and employees from the corporation, government agencies, airlines, subsidiaries, and resident companies.
Phu Tho Province in Vietnam, where the activities took place, is a city near Long Thanh, where the corporation is currently conducting an overseas airport project (Long Thanh New Airport Consulting Project). The corporation explained that this volunteer activity went beyond simple social contribution, embodying cooperation between the two airports and, furthermore, signifying friendship and partnership between the two countries.
During the volunteer period, the members worked on improving housing conditions for low-income families and conducted Korean culture education activities for students at a local middle school (Huyen Luong Middle School in Phu Tho Province). The housing improvement project targeted four households that were damaged by a typhoon in 2024, with volunteers directly repairing and renovating the affected homes, adding to the significance of the effort. On September 10, a completion ceremony for the renovated houses was held.
