Recruitment Open Until September 19
In-Person Household Surveys in November
Yangcheon District in Seoul (District Mayor Lee Gijae) is recruiting 178 field surveyors by September 19 to ensure the smooth implementation of the "2025 Population and Housing Census."
The "Population and Housing Census" is a statistical survey conducted every five years to collect comprehensive information on population, households, and housing. This data serves as essential foundational material for major policy decisions, future population and household projections, and a variety of social and housing indicators.
This year's census will take place from October 22 to November 18. Internet and telephone surveys will be conducted until October 31, and for households that do not participate, in-person interviews will be carried out from November 1 to 18.
Surveyors will visit sample households within the district to conduct interviews covering a total of 42 questions. They will also be responsible for thoroughly understanding the survey content, responding responsibly, persuading households that refuse to participate, and promoting the internet and telephone survey options.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to devote themselves fully to the survey period without holding another job. They must also be able to use smart devices such as tablet PCs.
Additional points will be given to those with prior experience in statistical surveys, holders of computer-related certifications, persons with disabilities, national merit recipients, North Korean defectors, low-income individuals, households with multiple children, Yangcheon District residents, and long-term residents of airport noise countermeasure areas.
Applicants should visit the main conference room on the first basement floor of Yangcheon District Office between September 15 and 19 to submit their applications in person. Final results will be announced individually via text message and on the district office website on September 26.
Lee Gijae, Mayor of Yangcheon District, stated, "The Population and Housing Census is a crucial survey that forms the foundation for national policy development, and the accuracy of the surveyors' work is extremely important. I hope many responsible and diligent individuals will apply to participate in this historic census, which marks its 100th anniversary this year."
