Heavy Rain Warnings Issued for Jangseong, Hampyeong, and Yeonggwang: 30 to 80 mm Expected by Night
Strong Wind Warnings for Muan and Mokpo; High Seas Warning for Southern West Sea

On September 13, Gwangju and Jeollanam-do were drenched by heavy rain from the morning, and heavy rain warnings were issued in some areas.

The Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration issued heavy rain warnings for Jangseong, Hampyeong, and Yeonggwang in Jeollanam-do at 7 a.m. on this day. As of now, the recorded precipitation stands at 23.8 mm in Yeonggwang, 7.5 mm in Jangseong, 6 mm in Hampyeong, and 6 mm in Gwangju, with forecasts predicting 30 to 80 mm of rain by night. Strong wind warnings have been issued for Muan, Hampyeong, Yeonggwang, Mokpo, and Shinan, while a high seas warning has been issued for the southern part of the West Sea. The highest daytime temperatures are expected to range between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius.


As of 10 a.m., Gwangju and Jeollanam-do remained mostly cloudy, with rainfall continuing at a rate of around 5 mm per hour. The southern coast of Jeollanam-do is experiencing heavy rain of 10 to 30 mm, and as of 9 a.m., cumulative precipitation reached 60 mm in Nakwol-do, Yeonggwang; 45 mm in Imja-do, Shinan; 40 mm in Jangseong; 39 mm in Doyang, Goheung; and 39 mm in Dado, Naju.


The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that the rain would continue until 9 p.m. on this day, with an additional 5 to 40 mm of rainfall expected.
