The timestamp on the released footage is 12:23 p.m. on the 10th. The individual in the video is dressed in black, wearing a hat and sunglasses. He is seen running across the roof of a building near the assassination site at Utah Valley University, descending to the ground, and then leaving the campus toward a wooded area. Clues such as palm prints and shoe prints were found along the escape route, and a Mauser .30-caliber bolt-action high-powered hunting rifle wrapped in a towel was discovered in the forested area where the suspect headed.

According to the Associated Press, a spent shell casing was found at the scene, and the rifle's magazine still contained three live rounds. The investigation team is reportedly conducting a detailed forensic analysis of the collected evidence. Police believe that the assassin fired a single shot from the rooftop of a building approximately 180 meters away, killing Kirk.

The joint investigation team, which includes hundreds of members from 20 investigative agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and local police, released photos of a man who could be the suspect and appealed to the public for any tips, including videos or photos, that could help apprehend the perpetrator. A reward of $100,000 (approximately 140 million won) has been offered for critical information related to the suspect. On September 11, the FBI's Salt Lake City division shared two photos of the individual being pursued as the suspect in Kirk's assassination on its official social media account. The man in the photos, like the one in the video, is wearing a black long-sleeve T-shirt with the American flag, a black hat, and sunglasses.

$100,000 Reward for Crucial Information

Utah Governor Spencer Cox stated, "Many people from across the country are working to ensure the perpetrator faces the judgment of justice," adding, "The FBI has received over 7,000 tips." He continued, "The investigation team is working with prosecutors and preparing to seek the death penalty for the suspect."

Meanwhile, NBC reported the opinion of former Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) expert Scott Sweetow, who said that if the perpetrator had a telescopic sight for long-range sniping, it would have been possible to shoot Kirk from a distance of 200 yards even without being a professional sniper. Experts explained, "Trained police or military snipers can accurately target and hit a person's head from distances exceeding 460 meters."
