Supporting Young Researchers’ Settlement and Job Creation in the Region
First Work-Life Balance Program Launched in Partnership with Local Companies

Keimyung University (President Shin Ilhee) has begun full-scale implementation of the "Regional Innovation-Centered University Support System (RISE) Youth Job-Residence Village Program" in collaboration with business and research and development (R&D) representatives from companies in the Daegu area. The initiative aims to encourage young researchers to settle in the region and create local jobs.

This project was designed to prevent the outflow of young master's and doctoral-level researchers and to strengthen the region’s innovation ecosystem.

Keimyung University held a work-life balance networking program on the 11th at Samsung Lions Park, where young master's and doctoral researchers and representatives from companies in the Daegu area participated together.

As part of the project, Keimyung University held its first work-life balance program on the 11th at Samsung Lions Park.

During the event, young researchers and representatives from local companies spent time networking while watching a professional baseball game together.

The event was attended by a total of 186 people, including current and former master's and doctoral students from Keimyung University, as well as HR and R&D representatives from 10 Daegu-based companies: Hyundai Gijeon, Daeju Machinery, Saeshin Precision, Samwoo Enterprise, SSLM, Megagen Implant, Sambo Motors, Dentis, Rootlab, and Korea Food.

Corporate representatives in charge of practical operations engaged directly with young researchers, sharing on-site employment needs and possibilities for research collaboration.

This program went beyond simple leisure activities, providing young researchers with direct access to information about the qualities companies seek in talent, recruitment details, and current industry issues, while serving as a networking platform for companies to identify a pool of outstanding talent.

Starting with this event, Keimyung University plans to jointly operate additional work-life balance and capacity-building programs for young researchers together with participating companies.

Through these efforts, the university aims to actively support young researchers in settling in the region and to further strengthen the foundation for cultivating high-level talent tailored to corporate needs.

Kim Beomjun, Vice President for Industry-Academia Cooperation at Keimyung University (also Head of the RISE Promotion Team and Startup Support Center), stated, "To help young researchers settle in the region, it is essential to offer not only jobs but also cultural and leisure programs that improve quality of life. Moving forward, the university and companies will continue to collaborate in developing a variety of support models to help young talent successfully take root in the region."
