The Korea Financial Investment Association announced on September 10 that the KOSPI closed at 3,314.53, setting a new all-time high, and stated, "A new chapter has been written in the history of our capital market." The previous record closing high was 3,305.21, set on July 6, 2021. On this day, the KOSPI also reached an intraday high of 3,317.77.

The Korea Financial Investment Association described this as "a historic turning point symbolizing the recovery and leap forward of our capital market," and added, "It is the result of the new administration's policy efforts to secure innovation and growth momentum through the capital market and to strengthen the foundation for long-term investment in an era of aging and low growth, combined with active participation from the private sector."

The association expressed expectations that if a roadmap for market-friendly investment tax policies and improvements in corporate performance becomes visible, the capital market will serve as a key infrastructure supporting a prosperous retirement for the public and the nation's future industries. It also forecasted that a 'structural virtuous cycle' that increases national wealth will accelerate.

Seo Youseok, Chairman of the Korea Financial Investment Association, said, "The new KOSPI record is significant in that it signals the revival of the capital market's core functions: supplying funds to the real economy and increasing the assets of the public." He continued, "This is not simply a short-term liquidity flow, but the beginning of a 'money move' in the asset market," adding, "It signifies a full-fledged shift in investment patterns from real estate to the capital market."

Chairman Seo further emphasized, "The association will not stop at celebrating this achievement, but will strive to fulfill the capital market's essential roles of supporting asset formation for the public, supplying venture capital, and supporting the real economy, with the goal of reaching the KOSPI 5000 era."
