Group of Monkeys Invade Home
Kidnap Baby and Drop into Water Container
A group of monkeys broke into a home in India, kidnapped a two-month-old baby, and caused the baby's death by dropping the child into a water container.
According to recent reports from Indian media outlets such as India Today, on the 4th (local time), a monkey entered a house in the Sitapur area of Uttar Pradesh and kidnapped a baby who was sleeping in a cradle on the veranda.
At the time, the baby's mother was taking a bath. During this time, a group of monkeys came into the house and took the baby onto the roof.
The family began searching for the missing child only after realizing the baby was gone. The baby was found inside a drum on the roof. The child was immediately transported to the hospital but was already deceased.
The news has deeply shocked the local community. According to local media, residents have long suffered injuries and property damage caused by monkeys, but the Indian Forest Department and administrative authorities have not taken effective action. Residents are now urging for prompt measures to prevent further loss of life.
This is not the first tragedy involving monkeys in India. In 2022, in the Baghpat area of Uttar Pradesh, a two-month-old boy was kidnapped by a group of monkeys and died after being thrown into a water tank.
At that time, closed-circuit television footage showed a monkey dragging the child away. A local veterinarian explained, "It is possible that a female monkey who had lost her own baby mistook the human baby for her own offspring."
