A Meeting to Foster Youth Soccer Players
and Promote the Development of Yeongdeok Soccer
On September 8, Kim Kwangyeol, the governor of Yeongdeok County in North Gyeongsang Province, held an on-site communication session at the Blue Road Rest Area within the Shin Taeyong Soccer Park. He met with coaches of local elementary, middle, and high school soccer teams who recently achieved outstanding results in national tournaments, as well as veteran directors who have contributed to the development of soccer in Yeongdeok, to discuss the future of soccer in the region.

The event was attended by Kanggu Elementary School coach Kim Seonguk, Kanggu Middle School coach Kwon Hyuk, Yeongdeok High School coach Choi Hogwan, each team's coaching staff, and former Kanggu Elementary School coach Kim Jungseop, a veteran who has led Yeongdeok soccer for many years. They shared vivid insights and opinions from the field.
During the meeting, Yeongdeok County listened to a wide range of opinions on topics such as discovering and nurturing youth players, expanding facility infrastructure, increasing the hosting of tournaments, and improving the treatment of coaches. The future vision for Yeongdeok soccer was also discussed together.
In particular, as the elementary, middle, and high school teams from Yeongdeok County have recently achieved consecutive outstanding results in national tournaments, the county explored ways to use this momentum as a foundation for regional soccer development through continued investment and policy support.
Governor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "Youth soccer in Yeongdeok County is a source of pride for our region and a precious foundation where our children can nurture their dreams. I am grateful for the dedication and hard work of all the coaches, and I will actively support Yeongdeok County in becoming a central hub for soccer in Korea."
Yeongdeok County plans to continue on-site communication and pursue various policies to revitalize the local economy and promote the development of the regional sports industry.
