Namyangju City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwangdeok) announced on the 5th that Mayor Joo attended the launching ceremony of the Sudong Park Golf Club held at the Sudong-myeon Comprehensive Administrative Town on the 3rd and offered his congratulations.

The Sudong Park Golf Club was established to promote the health and unity of Sudong-myeon residents. The event was organized by the Sudong Park Golf Club Preparatory Committee and sponsored by Muryangsa Temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism.


The ceremony was attended by over 100 people, including Mayor Joo Gwangdeok, City Council Chairman Cho Seongdae, local provincial and city council members, the president of the Namyangju Park Golf Club, the president of the Residents' Association, the president of the Village Head Association, other local figures, club members, and residents, all celebrating the club's launch. Notably, Muryangsa Temple (Chief Monk Jisang) provided a sponsorship fund to support the club’s stable operation.


Oh Changgeun, president of the Sudong Park Golf Club, shared his vision, stating, "We will foster communication across generations to promote health and happiness among residents, and we will always play a central role in the development of the local community."


Mayor Joo Gwangdeok remarked, "Today's launching ceremony marks a new beginning for all Sudong-myeon residents, transcending religion and occupation to come together as one." He added, "The city, city council, and provincial council will join forces to ensure the creation of an excellent park golf course for residents to enjoy."


He further emphasized, "Miracles happen when we unite and work together," expressing his hope that the Sudong Park Golf Club will become a great force for residents' health and the development of the local community.
